Fintech company Ramp has submitted an application to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to establish a new entity, Ramp National Trust Bank. The filing, submitted around October 16, 2026, seeks a federal trust bank charter.
The proposed bank will focus on fiduciary investment management and custody services for digital assets. Under the federal framework, the entity would be restricted from accepting deposits or issuing commercial loans.
Ramp is currently valued at $60 billion and reports an annualized revenue run rate of $2 billion. The company provides services to more than 85,000 teams.
The move follows a trend of firms seeking OCC trust charters between 2025 and 2026. Other companies, including Circle, Ripple, Paxos, and BitGo, have previously filed similar applications for digital asset custody.
The application process is in its early stages with no established review timeline. The outcome for Ramp may depend on the regulatory decisions regarding the pending applications from other industry participants.
