London-based startup Quartz has secured £2,75 million in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by Daphni, with participation from Outward VC and K Fund. Angel investors include former executives from Kantox, N26, and Kraken.
Founded in 2025 by André Silva and Mateus Mesquita Alves, the company employs 10 people across London, Barcelona, and Porto. The startup is launching an invitation-only waitlist for its application on the App Store and Google Play.
The platform uses a conversational AI named Charlie, built on models from Anthropic and OpenAI, to provide investment and tax efficiency guidance. It connects to user accounts, including pensions, savings, and investments, to aggregate financial data.
Quartz currently holds a license from the UK Financial Conduct Authority as an account information service provider. The company plans to obtain full financial advisor status in the future to enable direct trade execution on behalf of users.
The global wealthtech market is projected to grow from $22,99 billion in 2025 to $71,59 billion by 2030. Quartz differentiates itself from budgeting apps and neobanks by offering AI-driven services directly to consumers.
