PreScalar, a startup focused on firmware deployment and testing infrastructure for manufacturing, has secured $7 million in seed funding. The round was co-led by Dynamo Ventures and BMW i Ventures, with participation from Blue Wire Capital, Uplift Ventures, and Antler.

Founded in 2025, the company provides hardware test stations that integrate firmware management, test workflows, and data collection. The system is designed to scale from a single station to entire production lines, addressing the challenges of outdated firmware on components arriving at factories.

The startup has already secured pilot contracts exceeding $100 000 with a major autonomous vehicle company and an electronics manufacturer. These agreements include provisions for future expansion as the company targets sectors such as robotics, automotive, and consumer electronics.

The founding team, including CEO Skyler Salman, CTO Ben Fredrickson, and COO John Cathcart, brings experience from companies like Cruise, Rivian, Waymo, and Lucid. PreScalar plans to utilize the new capital for research and development, hardware manufacturing, hiring, and commercial deployments.
