Porsche has officially launched its inductive charging system for the electric Cayenne SUV. The technology uses a magnetic field to transmit power between a floor pad and a vehicle-mounted receiver, offering a maximum charging capacity of 11 kW, which is comparable to standard AC wallbox chargers.

The system achieves an energy transfer efficiency of up to 90 percent. To ensure precise alignment for the inductive coupling, the vehicle utilizes an integrated Park Assist feature. This technology is now available for order in Germany and across European markets, with a global rollout planned for all Porsche Connect regions, excluding China.

The hardware is offered as an optional extra. The vehicle-mounted pad and pre-installation cost €1 844.50, while the floor pad is priced at €5 116.99, bringing the total system cost to €6 961.49. Customers can also choose to purchase only the pre-installation for €226.10.

The pre-installation is a mandatory requirement for the system, as retrofitting is not possible at a later date. The Cayenne Electric has been in series production at the Volkswagen plant in Bratislava since February 2026, with base models starting at €105 200.
