Spanish aerospace firm PLD Space has assembled three Miura 5 launch vehicles, including two qualification units and one flight-ready rocket. The company is currently conducting comprehensive testing, with the inaugural demonstration flight scheduled for the first half of 2027.

The testing program involves the integration of the second stage, featuring avionics, fuel systems, and propulsion. In Teruel, the company has completed stage separation tests and is initiating wet dress rehearsals alongside static fire tests. PLD Space has manufactured 7 Teprel-C engines, 35 combustion chambers, 40 gas generators, and 15 turbopumps to support the program.

The company operates under a vertical integration model, utilizing 17,000 square meters of production space in Elche and 10 testing stands in Teruel. Infrastructure development is also underway at the Kourou spaceport in French Guiana, where the firm has received approximately 60 containers of equipment and is coordinating safety procedures with CNES.

The project has received €42.7 million in initial investment, supported by a supply chain of 493 companies and over 7,500 components. Furthermore, PLD Space is securing additional capital through a Series C funding round totaling €288 million. The company is also participating in the European Launcher Challenge to bolster its commercial launch capabilities.
