The Playden for PS5 launcher, developed by leolobato, now allows users to run Windows games from their Steam library directly on a jailbroken PlayStation 5. The tool functions as a standard PS5 application, utilizing the prospero-win port of Wine and DXVK for graphics rendering, eliminating the need for PC streaming or a separate Linux installation.

Development of the project has progressed rapidly since its public debut on October 12. Version 0.5.0 introduced Direct3D 12 support via VKD3D-Proton, enabling titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Deep Rock Galactic. The latest 0.6.0 update adds USB and FTP game imports, 120Hz output, and 4K resolution support.

Despite these advancements, the project remains experimental. While older titles and indie games such as Half-Life 2, Fallout: New Vegas, and Vampire Survivors are playable, many other games crash or fail to launch. Furthermore, titles requiring third-party launchers like EA App or kernel-level anti-cheat are currently unsupported.

The developer warns that Steam login tokens are stored unencrypted on the console. Users are advised to back up cloud saves, as the software may overwrite existing save files. Demonstrations of the tool have already surfaced on platforms like Reddit and X, showcasing library loading and gameplay.
