Major online video platforms reported the results of their September crackdown on AI-generated modified videos. During this period, nearly 13,000 non-compliant videos were removed, and over 30 accounts were penalized for violations.
The initiative focuses on content that distorts classic films and literature, including the Four Great Classical Novels, historical themes, and revolutionary figures. Authorities are also targeting cult-like animations to maintain a healthy audiovisual environment.
Starting February 1, 2026, the governance of AI-modified content will transition into a permanent, institutionalized mechanism. Platforms are required to strengthen daily monitoring and fulfill their responsibilities to prevent the degradation of cultural classics.
