The Brazilian digital bank PicPay launched a connector for the Claude AI assistant on September 3. This feature allows users to access their account information, including balances, investments, and credit card details, through natural language queries within the bank's mobile application.

The service is currently available on both Android and iOS platforms. It is being rolled out gradually to users participating in the bank's early access program. The tool is provided to customers free of charge, requiring biometric facial authentication for access.

The integration is strictly limited to monitoring and information retrieval. Users can view their recent and upcoming transactions, but the AI assistant cannot execute financial operations or move funds. This design choice aims to balance user convenience with security.

Industry analysts note that the implementation highlights a clear boundary between data accessibility and transaction execution. While the current model focuses on reading financial data, questions remain regarding how the bank will manage user permissions and potential future expansions.
