Perplexity has launched its new enterprise-focused AI agent platform, Teammates. The system is designed to manage long-term, large-scale projects by coordinating multiple AI agents that handle specific roles such as marketing, sales, operations, or financial analysis.

Built on the foundation of Perplexity's Computer system, Teammates operates continuously within a user's workspace. It utilizes project history, skill sets, and shared files to maintain context, allowing agents to plan tasks, track progress, and proactively address issues without requiring constant manual input.

The platform integrates directly with Slack, enabling employees to interact with agents, assign tasks, and receive updates within their existing communication channels. Agents can also collaborate by handing off findings to one another, such as transferring security vulnerability reports to a remediation specialist.

CEO Aravind Srinivas stated that the company's vision involves providing every employee with hundreds of dedicated AI colleagues to automate repetitive coordination tasks. This move signals Perplexity's strategic shift from a search-focused service to an enterprise productivity platform.

Access to Teammates is currently restricted to Perplexity Max subscribers. The subscription is priced at $200 per month, positioning the tool as a premium offering in the competitive market for enterprise AI agents, which includes rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic.
