Swiss startup PAVE Space, founded in 2024, plans to launch a demonstration mission of its IBEX spacecraft in February 2028. The platform is designed for maneuverable operations, including reconnaissance, jamming, and the neutralization of hostile spacecraft.

PAVE Space recently completed the GRAZE mission, testing an onboard computer launched in October via a SpaceX rideshare. The company is currently preparing to validate the full IBEX platform on an undisclosed US launcher with a defense prime customer.

The company aims to integrate IBEX with its LYOBA kick-stage to enable transit from LEO to GEO in under 24 hours. A commercial follow-up mission for IBEX is scheduled for late 2028, with the first LYOBA launch planned for 2029.

Other industry developments include Orca Aerospace securing a deal worth up to $20 million with Orbital. Additionally, CesiumAstro raised $730 million, including $630 million in equity and a $100 million debt facility, to deploy its 737-satellite Synchronicity constellation.
