Panasonic has commenced commercial sales of perovskite-based solar glass panels designed for building integration. The current pre-production units are manufactured in small batches at the company's research facility in Moriguchi, Osaka, with sales having officially begun in September 2026.

The company has advanced its timeline for full-scale mass production to April 2029, a year ahead of its original schedule. This large-scale manufacturing will be established at a facility located in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture.

Current pre-production panels feature a maximum size of 1.8 by 1.0 meters, with glass thickness options of 3 plus 3 millimeters and 6 plus 6 millimeters. The production process utilizes inkjet printing and laser engraving, allowing for custom patterns and aesthetic adjustments.

Future mass-produced units are expected to reach sizes of 1.8 by 1.2 meters, with additional thickness configurations of 4 plus 4 millimeters and 5 plus 5 millimeters. While specific efficiency rates are not disclosed, estimates suggest a range of 15 to 16 percent.
