A consumer reported a design flaw in the packaging of 'Khrumstik' popcorn, produced by OJSC Lidapishchekontsentraty. The new design features incorrect instructions regarding the orientation of the paper bag in a microwave.
The packaging instructs users to place the bag with the folded side facing up. However, this side contains the susceptor plate, which is designed to heat the oil and kernels from the bottom. Placing it face up prevents proper heat transfer to the kernels.
According to the report, this error causes the susceptor plate to overheat, potentially leading to the combustion of the paper bag, oil, and popcorn. The author noted that the previous design correctly placed the 'This side up' instruction on the seam, away from the susceptor.
The consumer has notified the manufacturer about the issue. The company has distributed a large batch of the product to retail stores across the country.
