Otter.ai has secured $320 million in funding from the General Catalyst Customer Value Fund. This investment structure provides capital to startups without diluting equity, focusing on returns based on marketing performance.
The company plans to allocate the new capital toward enterprise growth, international expansion, and product innovation. Otter.ai intends to refine its go-to-market strategy as it scales its operations.
The platform currently reports 40 million users, an increase from 25 million recorded last year. Additionally, the startup surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue during the previous year.
Otter.ai is expanding its feature set to include pre-meeting briefings and a Live Assist tool for real-time queries. These developments aim to automate workflows and integrate deeper into enterprise systems.
The company faces competition from various meeting note-taking tools, including Fireflies.ai, Granola, and Read AI. It is also navigating a market with new entrants like Calendly and Superhuman.
