Othello, a provider of real-time AI sales coaching, has secured $8 million in a seed funding round. The investment was led by Andreessen Horowitz Speedrun and Owl Capital, with participation from Long Journey Ventures, Stratus Ventures, and a group of angel investors including founders from DoorDash, Ripple, Hugging Face, and Deel.

The company utilizes its proprietary Hamlet AI models to provide live guidance during sales calls. The desktop application functions without joining calls as a participant and offers suggestions for questions, objection handling, and case studies in under half a second. It integrates with company playbooks to provide context-specific advice.

Currently, Othello serves more than 50 large enterprises, including Microsoft, Capital One, and Lyft. The startup plans to expand its customer base to over 100 multinational clients in the next six months. To support this growth, the company intends to increase its staff from 20 to 30 employees.

CEO Jared Zelman stated that the company aims to reach hundreds of customers within the next year. The long-term product roadmap includes extending real-time guidance to in-person meetings, potentially through wearable technology like smart glasses.
