OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT for Financial Services, a specialized tool designed for investment bankers and equity researchers. The platform integrates data from sources such as Daloopa, PitchBook, and LSEG News with the GPT-6 Astra model. OpenAI plans to update the service with its latest AI models as they become available.
The tool processes financial data, including earnings call transcripts, financial statements, and company fundamentals. It provides detailed citations, allowing users to verify the source of specific figures and conclusions. According to Vice President of Product Nick Turley, the system is designed to emulate the research and verification processes of financial analysts.
OpenAI aims to increase its share of enterprise clients, who generate higher revenue compared to the company's traditional consumer base. CFO Sarah Friar noted at a Goldman Sachs conference in San Francisco that the company's enterprise and consumer business segments have reached a near-equal split this year.
Both OpenAI and Anthropic have reportedly submitted confidential IPO filings. Anthropic is expected to go public as early as this autumn, potentially preceding OpenAI's market debut.
