OpenAI launched ChatGPT for Financial Services on September 10, a specialized version of its platform designed for investment banking and equity research teams. The tool was developed in collaboration with Morgan Stanley and Evercore to streamline financial research and document creation.

The service integrates GPT-6 Astra to analyze financial documents, including tables and notes, and supports the generation of valuation models, research reports, and presentation materials. Users can track data changes over time and create interactive charts using information from multiple sources.

The platform features built-in data from providers such as Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News, and Crunchbase. OpenAI also plans to integrate content from S&P Global, MSCI, Moody’s, and Dow Jones Factiva, while supporting over 50 connectors including Box and Datasite.

Security features include SAML single sign-on, SCIM user provisioning, and role-based access control. OpenAI stated that enterprise data is not used for model training and is encrypted in transit and at rest. Compliance teams can export logs for audits and manage data retention.

Financial institutions can deploy custom Excel, Word, and PowerPoint templates to ensure outputs meet corporate formatting standards. The service is currently available to eligible institutions, and developers can build custom financial applications using the OpenAI API.
