Open Cosmos secured €300 million in a new funding round to scale its satellite manufacturing and data services. The investment round included participation from Lightrock, ETF Partners, A&G Global Investors, Trill Impact, Santander Alternative Investments, Claret Capital Partners, Entrepreneurs First, the Institut Català de Finances, Phoenix Court, the UK’s National Security Strategic Investment Fund, Convex Group, and two pension funds.

Founded in 2015 by Rafel Jorda Siquier, Aleix Megias Homar, and Jordi Barrera Ars, the company currently operates four factories across the UK, Spain, Portugal, and Greece. It employs approximately 400 people and claims a production capacity of one satellite per day. The firm has reported profitability for five consecutive years and maintains a 100% mission success rate.

The company provides a range of services including satellite design through OpenOrbit, shared network access via OpenConstellation, broadband and IoT links through ConnectedCosmos, and data analytics via DataCosmos. The new capital will support the expansion of these service lines and the growth of the company's workforce.

Open Cosmos previously raised $50 million in a Series B round in September 2023. Over the last three and a half years, the company has secured more than $370 million in new contracts. The firm aims to combine manufacturing, shared infrastructure, and data services to support critical space-based orbital infrastructure.
