Chipmaker Onsemi is reportedly in negotiations to acquire the New York-based startup Ferric. The potential deal is valued at nearly $1 billion, according to reports from October 27, 2026.

Ferric specializes in integrated voltage regulators and thin-film magnetic inductor technology. Its latest product, the Fe1767 Newport, is a dual-sided 145 A regulator that claims to reduce voltage droop by up to 57%.

Founded in 2010 as Ferric Semiconductor, the startup has raised approximately $41.8 million in total funding, including a $32.1 million Series C round in December 2024.

The company estimates the total addressable market for power management in AI accelerators and processors at $10 billion. Onsemi has not officially confirmed the ongoing acquisition talks.

The final deal structure remains uncertain, with potential for earnout payments tied to future performance milestones. No other bidders have been reported at this stage.
