OneSpan Inc. has introduced new and planned features for its OneSpan Sign electronic signature service. The update focuses on automating document preparation, identity verification, and exception handling to accelerate workflows for financial institutions.

The platform now includes a redesigned dashboard for staff, featuring AI-assisted document field placement. For end-users, the system provides AI-generated document summaries and an interactive Q&A tool to clarify agreement details before signing.

Security enhancements include automated document checks to identify errors and tampering, alongside advanced biometric identity verification. The service also supports digital credentials and wallets, building on the DigipassONE authentication platform launched in July.

Future updates will introduce support for the Model Context Protocol, enabling AI agents to interact directly with agreement workflows. OneSpan aims to reduce manual handoffs after signatures are captured by integrating agentic workflows into its systems.

OneSpan serves financial institutions with a history spanning over 30 years. The company reports that more than 60% of the world’s 100 largest banks utilize its technology, with the electronic signature division processing over 100 million transactions annually.

The company has not disclosed specific release dates for the new features but plans to host a webinar on October 14 to detail the updates. These changes reflect a broader industry shift toward managing the entire agreement lifecycle.
