The OKX Shield program launched in the United States on October 20, 2026, following its initial release in the European Economic Area on September 22, 2026. The initiative provides discretionary reimbursement for account takeovers resulting from phishing, malware, or SIM swaps.
Reimbursement limits are tiered based on user status. VIP 4 to VIP 6 users are eligible for up to $500,000, while VIP 1 to VIP 3 users can receive up to $250,000. Regular users are covered for up to $100,000.
Participation requires users to enable mandatory security features, such as multi-factor authentication and Passkeys. The program is limited to one approved claim per verified identity across all OKX entities.
The policy excludes losses from authorized transactions, trading activities, and issues related to API keys. OKX retains the discretion to approve or deny any reimbursement claim.
