Nvidia has become the world’s most active participant in venture capital rounds of $100 million or more. In the first eight months of 2026, the company joined at least 53 such funding rounds. This performance places Nvidia ahead of major venture capital firms, including Andreessen Horowitz with 44 rounds, Sequoia Capital with 42, and Lightspeed Venture Partners with 38.
The chipmaker’s equity investment portfolio reached a value of approximately $99 billion as of July 26, 2026, compared to roughly $7 billion a year prior. Additionally, the company reported $25 billion in investment commitments. Its portfolio includes public companies, private AI developers, and infrastructure providers.
Nvidia is expanding its role in infrastructure finance through partnerships with firms such as BlackRock, Apollo, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR. These collaborations aim to mobilize more than $500 billion in third-party capital specifically for AI infrastructure development.
The company’s strategy reflects a shift in the AI sector toward capital-intensive projects. Nvidia now participates in the AI ecosystem by investing in companies, supplying necessary compute hardware, and acting as an architect for financial structures that enable customers to acquire infrastructure.
