Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated on October 22, 2026, that he expects no memory chip oversupply through 2029. He emphasized that demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and LPDDR will continue to rise due to the expansion of AI workloads.

In the second quarter of fiscal 2027, Nvidia reported total revenue of $96.2 billion, marking a 106% year-over-year increase. Data center revenue reached $89 billion, up 117% from the previous year.

The company's purchase commitments reached $279 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, more than double the amount from the prior quarter. A significant portion of these funds is allocated to securing long-term memory supply agreements.

Nvidia CFO Colette Kress noted that memory supply constraints are expected to limit growth until at least January 2028. Huang previously warned of broader semiconductor supply chain shortages, including wafers and packaging, which may persist for several years.
