Nissan plans to unveil its new electric microcar, the Pixo, on 23 September 2026. The vehicle is designed for the European market and marks the brand's return to the A-segment. It is intended to provide an accessible option for urban driving.
The Pixo is based on the Renault Twingo Electric and utilizes the RGEV Small platform, previously known as AmpR Small. The model will be manufactured at the Renault plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, as part of a partnership agreement between Nissan and Renault announced in March 2025.
While Nissan handled the design independently, the technical specifications are expected to mirror those of the Renault Twingo Electric. The Twingo features a 27.5-kWh battery, a 60-kW front-wheel-drive system, and a range of 262 km. The vehicle length is approximately 3.79 meters.
This collaboration aims to optimize development costs and timelines for both manufacturers. The partnership between the two companies was restructured in 2024, resulting in a mutual 15 per cent stake in each other's businesses.
