Developer none24 smu has successfully ported Nintendo's proprietary Horizon OS to the AYN Odin 2 handheld console. The project utilizes Atmosphère and Mesosphere technologies rather than relying on emulation to run the system.
The ported OS is currently functional, achieving a frame rate of 60 FPS. The physical buttons on the AYN Odin 2 are fully mapped and operational within the environment. However, the developer notes that some display issues persist on the lock screen and certain hardware drivers require further refinement.
Before the native port, the developer verified the feasibility of running Horizon OS using a QEMU virtual machine. The current implementation relies on the developer's own Switch keys. Any users attempting to replicate these results must independently obtain the necessary system firmware and security keys.
