NexPoint Materials, formerly a division of SABIC, announced that its LEXAN BPL1000 and CYCOLOY C2950 resins received the highest rating in the UL 2597 Surface Tracking Test at 900 V.

The UL 2597 standard evaluates insulating materials for transportation applications within a voltage range of 600 V to 900 V, marking 900 V as the maximum threshold for the test.

Surface tracking involves electrical discharges that create conductive paths on insulation, potentially damaging the material. These resins are intended for EV systems, battery units, and connectors.

The company also provides VALOX polybutylene terephthalate resins with high comparative tracking index values. Certain VALOX grades feature a relative thermal index reaching 140 degrees Celsius.

NexPoint suggests using its LEXAN, CYCOLOY, and VALOX product lines for high-voltage connectors, fast-charging infrastructure, and energy storage, as well as for compact connectors in AI data centers.
