Developer Panchovix has released a utility on GitHub that allows users to modify VBIOS configurations for Nvidia GeForce RTX 30, 40, and 50 series graphics cards without flashing the physical firmware. The tool utilizes a Windows registry override mechanism within the Nvidia driver to apply custom settings, which significantly reduces the risk of bricking the hardware compared to traditional flashing methods.

The software provides both a graphical interface and a command-line tool. It allows users to verify if the running VBIOS matches the loaded image and provides an option to remove the override to restore the original firmware. The tool is compatible with Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and requires Nvidia driver versions 616.56 or higher. A Linux version is also available.

Demonstrations show significant increases in power limits, such as raising the RTX 5090 from 600W to 800W and the RTX 4090 from 550W to 671W. The tool also allows for doubling the core offset range to +2000MHz. However, these figures represent configuration limits rather than actual performance, which remains dependent on cooling, power supply, and workload conditions.

The developer warns that while the tool avoids physical flash memory risks, modifying voltage, frequency, or power parameters beyond hardware design specifications can still damage electrical components. Additionally, future Nvidia driver updates may alter or remove the registry override mechanism, potentially rendering the tool ineffective.
