NEURA Robotics and the Technical University of Munich have opened the TUM RoboGym, a 2,300-square-meter facility near Munich Airport. The center focuses on research, robot training, and industrial application, operating in partnership with the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence.
The project involves a total investment of approximately €17 million, with NEURA contributing about €11 million. The partnership is initially scheduled for a three-year term. Companies from over ten industries, including automotive, logistics, and healthcare, have been testing workflows at the site since September.
Alongside the opening, NEURA introduced the 4NE1 Gen 4, a new generation of its humanoid robot. The machine is designed for series production and utilizes the proprietary Neuron AI foundation model. It is currently in operation at the TUM RoboGym and the NVIDIA GTC conference in Berlin.
The Munich facility serves as the first site in a planned international network of NEURA Gyms, with future locations expected in Europe, the United States, and China. Another center is currently under construction in Germany in collaboration with RWTH Aachen.
