NASA has expanded its partnership with SpaceX by ordering three additional crewed missions to the International Space Station. The new agreement, part of the Commercial Crew Transportation Capability program, covers missions Crew-15, Crew-16, and Crew-17, bringing the total number of SpaceX missions commissioned by the agency to 17.

The contract modification is valued at $946 million. This funding covers comprehensive mission support, including pre-launch preparations, flight operations, crew return, post-flight recovery, and cargo delivery. Additionally, the Dragon spacecraft will continue to serve as an emergency lifeboat for the station crew while docked.

These missions are scheduled for 2027 and 2028, extending the program's operational timeline through 2030. With this latest addition, the cumulative value of NASA's CCtCap contract with SpaceX has reached $5,92 billion. The original commercial crew agreements were established in 2014, with SpaceX achieving crewed flight certification in 2020.
