MucoLife Therapeutics has secured €91 000 in funding from Vinnova, the Swedish innovation agency. The grant was awarded under the program supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in utilizing life science infrastructure.
The capital is designated for scaling the manufacturing process of the company's lead candidate, MLT-001. This inhaled peptide is designed to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by dissolving airway mucus plugs.
The development project will be conducted in partnership with a contract development and manufacturing organization. The objective is to establish a scalable purification process that meets specific purity and yield standards.
The initiative includes creating a transferable process description and a control strategy. These components are essential for future production under Good Manufacturing Practice standards and for advancing the drug toward clinical trials.
