MTS has introduced the MFO-15, a 15-meter multifunctional support tower designed for remote areas lacking power grid access. The structure features a climate-controlled cabinet with lithium batteries and a diesel generator, allowing for autonomous operation of base stations for up to 12 days per fuel refill.
The tower is designed for rapid deployment, requiring three people and a crane-equipped vehicle to assemble within three hours. It is intended for use in industrial sectors, including mining, construction, forestry, and the establishment of private LTE/5G networks along transport routes.
Additionally, MTS plans to deploy ten aerial mobile communication complexes (AMKS) across Russian regions by early 2027. These systems utilize tethered hexacopters to carry LTE/5G base stations, providing connectivity for emergency operations, agricultural tasks, and large-scale events.
The AMKS technology was first demonstrated in Nizhny Novgorod in May 2026. The system is transportable by car or trailer and is designed to provide rapid network coverage in locations where traditional infrastructure is unavailable or temporary connectivity is required.
