MTS has officially registered its proprietary BRAS/BNGi service routers in the Russian Software Registry under record number 35575. The software, which operates on standard x86 servers, was developed by the company in late 2024 following the exit of major international network equipment vendors from the Russian market.

The routers are a central component of a 1 billion RUB project aimed at modernizing the fixed-line transport network core. Depending on the server configuration, the software delivers a throughput capacity ranging from 40 to 200 Gbit/s. The company received a certificate of compliance for the MTS-BNG solution in early 2025.

Currently, the equipment is deployed across 23 regions of Russia. MTS plans to invest 1 billion RUB between 2026 and 2027 to expand and upgrade its fixed broadband transport network in 26 regions, with a significant portion of this budget allocated to the installation of these proprietary service routers.
