Russian telecommunications equipment manufacturer Eltex has launched the MES5600-24, a high-performance L3 switch designed for data centers and AI infrastructure. The device offers a switching capacity of up to 11.24 Tbps, facilitating high-speed data exchange between computing nodes and storage systems.
The hardware features 24 ports of 100G QSFP28, eight ports of 400G QSFP56-DD, and two 10G SFP+ interfaces. It is primarily intended for deployment at the leaf layer in IP fabrics, where the 100G ports connect to servers and the 400G ports link to the spine layer.
To ensure network reliability and traffic management, the switch supports EVPN/VXLAN protocols and Data Center Bridging (DCB) technology. These features allow for the creation of fault-tolerant architectures and lossless data transmission over Ethernet, which is critical for high-load environments.
The device includes 1+1 power redundancy and supports hot-swapping for both power supply units and fan modules, allowing for maintenance without downtime. The MES5600-24 is currently available for free testing by potential enterprise clients.
