MTS has introduced a new multifunctional tower, the MFO-15, designed to provide mobile connectivity in remote and sparsely populated areas lacking power grid access. The 15-meter structure includes a climate-controlled cabinet with lithium batteries and a diesel generator. It can be assembled in three hours by a three-person team using a crane truck.
The MFO-15 is intended for use along highways, railways, mining sites, and construction zones, as well as for Private LTE/5G industrial networks. The diesel generator allows the base station to operate autonomously for 12 days on a single fuel tank, with the cycle repeating after refueling. The solution is currently being deployed in regions including the Perm Territory.
Furthermore, MTS plans to deliver the first 10 aeromobile communication complexes (AMKS) by early 2027. These drone-based systems are designed for rapid deployment of LTE/5G networks during emergencies, search and rescue operations, agricultural activities, and large-scale public events. Like the tower, the AMKS can also support dedicated corporate Private LTE/5G networks.
