MTS has launched the MFO-15, a 15-meter multifunctional tower designed for remote and sparsely populated areas lacking grid access. The structure includes a climate-controlled cabinet with lithium batteries and a diesel generator, allowing for 12 days of autonomous operation on a single fuel tank. It is intended for use along transport routes, mining sites, construction zones, and for industrial Private LTE/5G networks.
By early 2027, the company plans to deploy ten aeromobile communication complexes (AMKS) across Russian regions. These systems utilize a tethered hexacopter carrying an LTE/5G radio module. The setup can be deployed by two specialists in 30 minutes. Operating at altitudes of 100–200 meters, the drone provides coverage within a 10–15 km radius for up to three days.
The technology was first demonstrated in Nizhny Novgorod in May 2026. According to Marat Kabanov, director of MTS in Tatarstan, these solutions are suitable for remote industrial production, temporary event coverage, search and rescue operations, emergency response, and environmental monitoring where standard infrastructure is unavailable.
