MTS has launched 5G network services in Yakutsk. The operator deployed the technology using existing LTE 2100 MHz frequencies, covering key residential areas, industrial sites, and public spaces across several city districts.

The new network is currently active near the airport in the Saisarsky district, the 172nd quarter residential complex, the Melnikov Permafrost Institute, and along the Sergelyakhskoye highway. Industrial facilities in the Avtodorozhny and Gagarinsky districts are also covered.

The deployment follows the principle of technological neutrality, allowing the company to utilize existing LTE spectrum for both 4G and 5G simultaneously. This approach enables the expansion of 5G coverage without the immediate need for constructing entirely new infrastructure.

MTS has previously implemented 5G networks in over 20 Russian cities, including Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, and Ufa. The company has also established private 5G-ready networks for industrial clients in the Yakutia region.
