MTS has deployed 5G network infrastructure in the Novgorod region. The new communication standard is currently operational across several urban locations in Veliky Novgorod, utilizing existing LTE frequencies in the 2100 MHz band.
The deployment covers key areas including the Victory-Sophia Square, the Ice Arena, Yunost Park, the Trade Side, and the 30th Anniversary of October Park. Additionally, the network is active in residential districts such as Zapadny, Pskovsky, Kolmovo, and near the Rus and Slavyanskaya Yarmarka shopping centers.
The company is implementing 5G through the principle of technological neutrality. This approach allows the simultaneous use of a single frequency resource for both fourth and fifth-generation networks, enabling coverage expansion without the need for constructing separate infrastructure.
