MegaFon has launched a 4G network in the village of Chernovka, Amur Region, providing residents with mobile internet speeds of up to 30 Mbps. Previously, local users relied on LTE signals from neighboring settlements.
The network utilizes multiple frequency bands to ensure coverage both outdoors and inside buildings. High-frequency bands are used to support high data throughput for video streaming, cloud services, and large file transfers.
Data usage statistics for September show an average of 60 GB per user in the village. The location serves as a transit point for travelers from regions such as Yakutia, Zabaykalsky, Khabarovsk, Tyumen, and Altai Krai.
MegaFon also upgraded telecommunications infrastructure in the northern settlements of Lesnoy and Beregovoy this year. These projects involved transitioning to fiber-optic connections to serve local gold mining industry workers.
Regional Minister of Digital Development and Communications Denis Zemnukhov noted that the expansion of LTE infrastructure is part of a broader effort to provide reliable connectivity outside of major urban centers.
