Morphotonics, a Dutch deeptech firm based in Veldhoven, has secured €40 million in a new funding round. The investment consortium includes 3M Ventures, Innovation Industries, BOM, and Invest-NL. The company, which employs between 50 and 60 people, plans to use these funds to scale its manufacturing capacity and expand its team.

The capital will support the company's expansion into data center optics and semiconductor packaging. Morphotonics specializes in roll-to-plate nanoimprint lithography, a process that creates microscopic optical structures on substrates up to 1.1 by 1.3 meters. These components are used in display optics, augmented reality waveguides, and optical interconnects.

This latest round follows a Series B first closing in September 2024, which raised over $10 million, or approximately €9 million, from 3M Ventures, Innovation Industries, and BOM. Under CEO Hugo da Silva, who joined in October 2024, the company reported a three- to four-fold year-over-year revenue increase in 2025.

Morphotonics is actively growing its international presence, having recently opened an office in China and established a contract manufacturing network. The company maintains a strategic partnership with Leia for 3D display technology. Invest-NL's participation underscores the firm's strategic role in European semiconductor and photonics independence.
