Mistlabs, a San Francisco-based company, has secured $26 million in a Pre-A funding round. The investment was led by Luminous Ventures, with Huaqin Technology participating as a co-lead. The company announced the round on October 5, 2026.
The capital is allocated for the development of the Ambi platform, an ambient intelligence assistant. The software is designed to operate in the background on Apple devices, including iPhones, Macs, and Apple Watches, by capturing context from conversations and tasks without requiring explicit user prompts.
Prior to the funding, Mistlabs conducted a private beta program that concluded in August 2026. Data from this phase showed a Day 7 user retention rate of 37.8%. The company plans to launch the platform to the public in mid-October 2026.
Beyond software integration, Mistlabs intends to use the funds to develop a standalone AI wearable device. While the company has confirmed this as a long-term goal, it has not yet disclosed specific hardware technical specifications or a development timeline.
