San Francisco-based startup Mirendil is currently in negotiations to raise up to $1 billion in a new funding round. This deal would bring the company's valuation to $5 billion. Kleiner Perkins is reportedly leading the investment, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz.
The company was established in December 2025 by former Anthropic researchers Behnam Neyshabur and Harsh Mehta. The team currently consists of approximately 20 specialists. Mirendil focuses on developing self-improving AI systems designed to automate complex research and development tasks.
Just three months prior, in June 2026, the startup completed a seed round of $200 million at a $1 billion valuation. That round was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Kleiner Perkins, with an investment from NVIDIA.
In August 2026, Mirendil secured a $100 million deal with Google Cloud to access TPUs, NVIDIA GPUs, and managed clusters for training its models. If the current round closes, the total funding raised by the company will reach approximately $1.2 billion.
