Microsoft has unveiled the next generation of its Surface Mouse, marking the first update to the product line in a decade. The device was officially announced at the 2026 Snapdragon Summit.

The new mouse features a minimalist design with a scroll wheel and a dedicated programmable button. This button can be configured to launch specific applications, such as Copilot, or other shortcuts. Users connecting the mouse to non-Surface hardware must install the dedicated Surface app to customize these settings.

A key technical upgrade is the inclusion of haptic feedback. The mouse uses an internal vibration motor to provide tactile responses when users snap application windows or drag files between them in Windows. The device utilizes Bluetooth 6.0 for connectivity and supports pairing with multiple devices for seamless switching.

The mouse offers a battery life of up to 6 months. It will be available in two color options: black and platinum. The product is scheduled to hit the market on October 13 with a starting price of $79.99.
