Microsoft has unveiled a redesigned Copilot super app that integrates chat, coding, and agent capabilities into a single interface. The application features three primary tabs: Home, Code, and Autopilot. The Home tab serves as a central dashboard for emails, meetings, and recent activity, while the Code tab allows users to build and share internal applications.

The Autopilot feature, formerly known as Scout, functions as a cloud-based digital teammate. It operates on its own cloud computer instance, allowing it to perform tasks such as monitoring Teams channels or managing recurring workflows while the user is offline. The tool is designed for enterprise use, integrating with Microsoft identity management and security protocols.

Microsoft is introducing a usage-based billing model for the new agentic features, including Code and Autopilot, alongside the standard user subscription license. IT administrators will be required to utilize a new FinOps for AI tool to monitor and manage expenses related to these specific AI capabilities.

The rollout of the new interface begins in the coming weeks for participants in the Microsoft Frontier program. The Autopilot feature will enter private preview later this month, while the Code tab is scheduled for a preview release for Microsoft 365 Premium and Pro subscribers by the end of the year.
