Microsoft is discontinuing the Prioritize My Inbox feature in Outlook, which was introduced in 2025 as a tool to help users manage email volume. The feature utilized Copilot AI to learn user habits, highlight relevant messages, and filter content based on custom prompts or specific categories like meeting requests and project updates.

The company announced that the retirement process will begin on October 26, 2026. The feature will be gradually phased out across all Outlook clients, with a full removal expected by the end of March 2027. Microsoft stated that this decision aims to simplify the overall experience of the Outlook Copilot service.

Despite the removal of this AI-driven tool, Microsoft confirmed that users will continue to have access to traditional email management features, such as the Focused Inbox. The company did not provide specific reasons for the shutdown beyond the goal of streamlining the platform's interface and functionality.
