Microsoft has introduced new editing capabilities for HTML and Markdown files directly within the OneDrive interface. Users can now modify content without relying on local editors or switching between different software tools.
For HTML files, the platform allows direct text editing on rendered pages. Developers can utilize a side-by-side view for real-time code previewing or switch to a full-screen mode to display final results.
The Markdown editor now features a WYSIWYG interface with a rich text toolbar, allowing users to format documents while maintaining the original file format. This supports ongoing use in technical documentation and AI agent instructions.
The update also enables real-time collaborative editing for Markdown files, allowing multiple users to work on the same document simultaneously to improve team efficiency.
Additionally, Microsoft has improved the search experience for shared document libraries. These libraries now appear directly in OneDrive search results and file pickers, eliminating the need to navigate through SharePoint.
