Meta reported total quarterly revenue of $64.6 billion, marking a 26% increase compared to the previous year. Advertising revenue accounted for $63.061 billion of this total, rising from $50.082 billion in the same period last year. This growth was driven by a 10% increase in ad impressions and a 14% rise in the average price per ad.
The company attributed these financial gains to investments in artificial intelligence, which improved ad targeting, engagement, and recommendations. During the quarter, nearly 10 million advertisers utilized Meta’s generative AI creative tools.
In comparison, Alphabet reported total revenue of $127.6 billion, a 25% year-over-year increase. Google’s advertising revenue reached $82.01 billion, with its core search and other ads segment contributing $63.35 billion, reflecting a 12% growth rate. YouTube ads generated $11.21 billion, up 9%.
Meta’s advertising business is now within approximately $290 million of Google’s flagship search ads revenue. While Alphabet’s overall business remains larger, Meta’s ad revenue growth rate of 26% significantly outpaced Google’s search segment growth of roughly 11% during the third quarter.
