Mercedes-Benz has announced the development of its MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO urban driver assistance system in collaboration with NVIDIA. The system is designed to handle complex city traffic scenarios, including lane changes, intersection navigation, and traffic light recognition.
The automaker plans to launch the system for select eligible customers in Stuttgart and Munich by the end of 2026. A broader order availability in Germany is scheduled for the first half of 2027. The technology is classified as an SAE Level 2 driver assistance system, requiring constant driver supervision.
NVIDIA provides the artificial intelligence technology, the DRIVE AV software, and the DRIVE AGX computing platform for this project. The companies are also expanding their partnership to develop next-generation autonomous driving systems using the Mercedes-Benz MB.OS operating system and NVIDIA's Hyperion, Alpamayo Stack, and Halos solutions.
