MegaFon has upgraded its telecommunications infrastructure at the Yuzhny Sklon ski resort in Murmansk. Engineers modernized the base station located at the mountain summit to improve network performance for visitors.

The updated equipment provides coverage across ski slopes, the freeride zone, and the tubing track. Following the upgrade, data transmission speeds at the facility can now reach 50 Mbps.

According to operator data, daily winter traffic at the resort is equivalent to sending over 2,000 photos. Network load peaks during weekends and the January holiday period.

This project is part of a broader regional network development strategy. Earlier this summer, MegaFon also enhanced its connectivity infrastructure in Kirovsk, serving the Big Woodyavr ski area.
