Fragmentation of data, information systems, and areas of responsibility remains the primary barrier to the widespread adoption of AI agents in the telecommunications sector. This was stated by Evgeny Bobkov, Managing Director for Digital Solutions at MegaFon, during the Digital Solutions forum.

According to Bobkov, companies often manage end-to-end tasks in isolated segments, which hinders the performance of AI agents. Additional challenges include infrastructure unpreparedness and insufficient quality of solutions at specific product development stages, preventing projects from scaling on time.

The executive emphasized that the industry requires vendors to provide verifiable industrial-grade implementations tailored to the specific needs of telecommunications. He noted that there is no longer a need for simple demonstrations of model capabilities.
