MegaFon has expanded its network infrastructure in the Nikolsky district of the Vologda region. The operator installed new telecommunications equipment to improve connectivity for 9,000 residents across several settlements, including the administrative center of Nikolsk, as well as the villages of Argunovo, Vakhnevo, Aksentyevo, and Sluda.
Engineers utilized multiple frequency bands to optimize network capacity and coverage. The upgraded infrastructure now supports mobile data speeds of up to 40 Mbps. According to Alla Lebedeva, director of MegaFon in the Vologda region, the average monthly data consumption per subscriber in the area exceeds 10 GB.
This initiative is part of a broader regional program to enhance network coverage. Previously, the operator upgraded base stations in the Babayevsky, Sheksninsky, Cherepovetsky, Vytegorsky, Ustyuzhensky, and Kaduisky districts. These efforts, combined with radio parameter optimization, resulted in a 30% increase in mobile internet speeds for small settlements in those areas.
