Maxwell Aircraft has unveiled the M1 Hybrid, an amphibious aircraft designed for cargo and passenger transport in regions lacking traditional airport infrastructure. The M1-HC cargo variant is engineered to carry a payload of up to 907 kg over a range exceeding 1,850 km. The vehicle is capable of landing on both standard runways and water surfaces.

The aircraft features a hybrid powertrain that utilizes electric motors during high-energy phases like takeoff and climb, while relying on diesel engines for cruise flight. This configuration allows for high takeoff power without the need for a heavy, permanently high-output propulsion system. The system delivers a maximum takeoff power of 1,500 hp, dropping to 300 hp during cruise.

The design employs short bursts of electric power to minimize battery capacity and weight requirements. For long-distance flights, the aircraft uses turbocharged diesel engines with direct injection, compatible with Jet A aviation fuel. The cargo version includes a 1.5-meter-wide door designed for pallet loading, targeting logistics, rescue operations, and defense sectors.
